Imperial Taro has sensational, showy foliage with large, Smokey-charcoal colored leaves and spectacular lime-green veining. Imperial Taro is quite impressive and exotic-looking! Planting Instructions

For terrestrial gardens in the landscape, dig holes twice as large as the bulbs and plant in loam soil with a little composted material, with points up and roots facing down, with an inch of soil above the bulb. Plant in filtered sunlight to part shade. Water regularly, especially during long, hot dry spells. If adding to your pond, allow roots in water with no water over the pot, in part sun to part shade. In terrestrial gardens in northern climates, lift bulbs after first light frost, remove soil and all foliage, allow to dry in a well ventilated area outdoors for a couple of weeks then store bulbs in a cool, dark, dry place throughout the winter months. Plant in the spring after all danger of frost has passed. Imperial Taro may also be overwintered indoors as a houseplant!
